Refund Policy

This page explains how subscription cancellations, plan changes, and refund requests are handled for Family Assets.

Last updated: January 14, 2026

Billing and cancellation summary

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis. You may request cancellation or a subscription change by contacting support. Unless stated otherwise, cancellations take effect at the end of the active billing period.

  • Your paid plan remains active until the current billing period ends.
  • You will not be charged for the next billing cycle after cancellation.
  • Your account may be downgraded to the free tier after the paid term expires.
  • Your data is generally retained unless you separately request deletion.

When refunds may be approved

  • First-time subscriptions: a full refund may be available within 14 days of the initial paid subscription, subject to review.
  • Billing errors: duplicate charges or incorrect charges may be fully refunded.
  • Material service disruption: a pro-rated refund may be considered when an extended outage materially affects service availability.

When refunds are usually not available

  • Partial periods remaining after a standard cancellation.
  • Unused subscription time outside any applicable cooling-off or review period.
  • Plan downgrades that take effect in a future billing cycle.
  • Accounts suspended or terminated for violations of the Terms of Service.

This policy is intended as a general framework. Mandatory consumer rights under applicable law take precedence where they apply.

How to request a refund

  1. Email billing@familyassets.app.
  2. Include the account email and a short description of the issue.
  3. Attach any supporting billing details that will help us review the request.

We aim to respond to refund-related requests within two business days.

Processing times and plan changes

Approved refunds are typically processed within five to ten business days and returned to the original payment method. Financial institutions may require additional time to post the credit.

If you upgrade mid-cycle, the applicable prorated difference may be charged immediately. Downgrades generally take effect at the start of the next billing cycle unless explicitly stated otherwise.
